Liceul cu Program Sportiv in Satu Mare, ROMANIA is a sports vocational institution with 401 students who attend classes on regular basis and are involved in sports and physical education activities about 7-12 hours a week. Football, basketball and athletics are on the school curriculum and physical education for the primary level. English and French are the foreign languages on the school curriculum. Our institution also includes the School Sports Club where 358 children who belong to our sports club, practice basketball, handball, volleyball, chess, table tennis, fencing although they attend regular classes at other institutions. The normal school program is followed by after-school trainings where the children prepare for competitions. Some students are very skilled at sports and they have remarkable results on a local, regional and national level, the majority of them come to our school either for the love of doing their favourite sport or encouraged by their parents in order to live a healthier life. Our institution has 38 teachers and 13 trainers who work at the associated club.
The school isn’t situated in a central area, so the location is disadvantaged somehow; as a result, parents confront difficulties when they bring their children to our school or learners have to walk much from the stops where the rural buses leave them in the city center, especially a problem when the weather conditions are not good. The building that hosts the school is an old one, it’s extension is hardly possible due to the lack of space, and renovation is also difficult.
